| Interior Shutters
Shutters can be a very cost-effective window treatment application because of the quality and functionality it simultaneous brings to your home environment. Professional real estate agents will agree that interior shutters can bring resale value to your home.
Shutters are one of the best solutions for light control, heat gain and are excellent as an acoustical barrier to exterior noise. Since shutters have no cord controls or rout holes, they are completely child safe and allow for minimal light leakage and maximum privacy. Because it is a treatment that is impact-resistant, shutters are an excellent solution for windows that pets use to view outside to "protect your home"!
Shutter frames also provide a finished millwork appearance around the perimeter of your window that blinds and other shade options do not, that is not only aesthetically pleasing but also more efficient for light and heat control. There are many sizes and profiles of frame styles to choose from that will match any décor!
Available in a range of different types of woods or synthetic materials, your choice for the right shutter depends on various requirements in their performance and their location in your home:
- 100% synthetic materials that are guaranteed never to bow or warp, fade, chip or turn yellow and are State Certified fire retardant as well as moisture resistant. These are preferred in whites that match most millwork.
- a blend of American hardwood and durable thermal polymers that resist warping from temperature fluctuations, extreme humidity and intense UV light Available in whites that match most millwork.
- premium basswood built with traditional hand craftsmanship in an endless variety of paints and wood stains at value price points.
- genuine American hardwoods that reflect the natural grain characteristics of the materials, making it truly unique... no two pieces of hardwood are alike, yet the woods are hand-selected for consistency and always custom-stained for richness of color; the ultimate in classic beauty.
Shutters may be configured as a single panel; a double panel with a center opening; or multiple panels divided by T-posts with various orientations in opening, or double hung in the style of a Dutch door. Floor-to-ceiling or locations at sliding doors may be configured on a bi-pass sliding system or a bi-fold system similar to a "closet door".
Louver sizes are available in 2 ½", 3 ½" and 4 ½" sizes. Louvers have an elliptical shape to allow the louvers to close tightly in both directions, minimizing light leakage. When tilted open, the size of the louver dictates the viewing space between each; the greater the size louver, the larger the viewing space! A "hidden tilt bar" option allows the louvers to be opened with one touch instead of a vertical tilt bar, further enhancing an unobstructed view. Because louvers are spring-loaded into the frame, replacing a single or multiple louvers is possible without dismantling the entire shutter panel.
Shutters may be color-matched to wood blinds in the same room. They can also be matched to 100's of Benjamin Moore paint colors and custom stains can be developed to match any type of furniture finish! |
